Date Posted:
14 Mar 2010
Summary:
LHL Group, who were appointed to act as contract administrator in April 2008, have finally helped to realise the dreams of the Green Hammerton Recreational Charity by helping to co-ordinate the delivery of their new community hall.

Delivery and lifting of the new 'Yorkon' sheel structure into place

LHL Group were approached due to their combined building surveying, architectural and quantity surveying skills which the clients have required over the past 2 years.

Initially the community hall was planned to be a traditional build until the offer of a 'Yorkon' structure was tabled. LHL Group carried out a cost planning exercise and has assisted the client with grant applications over the past 2 years. They have also obtained all the necessary statutory approvals (planning and building regulation approval) for the modern looking structure, which is to be a fantastic addition for the community of Green Hammerton.

LHL Group are continuing to assist the client by fully administering the terms of the contract and co-ordinating all the on site operations, including the provision of all the necessary infrastructure that the new community hall requires.

Matthew Ward, the Director looking after this scheme, commented ‘it is very rewarding to finally see the delivery of this fantastic facility which we are pleased to have been involved with. Being involved with a local community club myself, I appreciate the effort that has gone on by the volunteers, but know that the client very much appreciates our professional assistance throughout the past 2 years, which has helped to deliver this scheme on time and within their budget’.
